Pop Up Lace

Top: F21 / Skirt : Necessary Clothing / Shoes : Lord & Taylor

After my post about the lace up trend , I ended up purchasing a pair that I featured. This outfit too, was for our youth conference and chosen completely on a whim , the top and shoes were found last minute. While doing last minute shopping and running around to every place that I could think of that had shoes. I spotted them behind a pillar in Lord and Taylor’s and it was love at first sight. The cobalt blue, the perfect point and perfect heel height we’re jaw dropping … literally I fell in love. A shoe like that sounds extremely painful but I wore them all night and not a complaint.

My outfit was extremely plain, I let my shoes, makeup and hair do the talking for this one. The peplum hem skirt and ruffled collar shirt detail bought in some character and charm for the plain black and white outfit. The bright pop of color and lacing up detail was the icing on the cake.

Top : H&M / Skirt : H&M / Shoes : Guess / Purse : H&M / Necklace/Choker : Aldo Accessories

This skirt has made its debut on here before, that time with denim on dem.. This was a steal purchase from Zara during the fall and as you can see it has made its way into the summer. I was going for an easy casual look so I paired it with a nude tee and of course everyone knows my love for camo, so I pulled out my Guess camo-print pump to tie in the nude earthy tones nicely. To keep it simple I chose my fringe purse, that I have been neglecting lately. For jewelry I wore my everyday watch and a choker that I wore like a normal necklace.

Denim skirts have now become a basic piece that is a must have in every woman’s wardrobe. Denim skirts are available in every length and cut. From “midi pencils” to “mini A-line” in every wash you can imagine. If you don’t have a denim skirt, I recommend experimenting with a light/ medium wash that is about knee length. It will be perfect for trying different looks and won’t be too much of a problem when the weather cools down. During the winter denim skirts will be perfect with with booties, pumps and knee high boots.

Dress : Asos / Necklace : H&M / Shoes : Guess (from last year)

Who said only tall women can pull off maxi dresses? Don’t be fooled, I am barely 5 feet. Ever since wearing a gown for a recent wedding, I have become more intrigued to wear maxi’s. I am used to wearing maxi’s here and there during the summer but maxi dresses can be taken past the level of casual into the world of chic. The beauty of these dresses are they can easily be made chic, with the simplest details. Any type of statement or key jewelry, a necklace or earrings can make any maxi dress stand out. If I decided to go for a pair of statement earrings, a silver sandal and an elegant updo, this look could definitely double as a wedding outfit. Also, sleeves on a maxi dress, regardless of the weather is a great look. As fashion has grown, so has the style options for maxi dresses. There are gowns, maxi’s with sleeves, maxi’s with a mermaid cut and even maxi cardigans and plaid shirts. Explore the different maxi’s styles during the approaching fall weather.

I combined my sleeved maxi dress with a statement necklace, keeping everything else minimal yet chic. I purchased this dress for our annual National Youth Conference at my church. I bought this dress completely on a whim and a had no idea how I was going to wear it. The dress’ material was very soft and stretchy and its pleats were perfectly placed. The back of the dress had a cutout, which I covered with a similar colored tank. I originally planned to use lace, but unfortunately could not find a matching one. Because of my height, or lack there of, I closed the slit to above my knee, since it was a lot higher. To complete the look I added a pair of nude sandals and my tribal-esque statement necklace. The silver necklace went perfect with the blue undertones in the periwinkle fabric. I followed this cool toned them with my makeup, with a cool toned eye and gray-ish nude lip.
