Hope everyone had a great weekend ! Ever since purchasing the neon yellow/green clutch from Urban Outfitters, I can’t stop reaching it for it on my way out the door. Its spacious size and color have easily made it a go to item, fitting all my essentials, most importantly my phone. So of course to compliment the color, or contrast in this case, some more colorblocking definitely wins. Just like my last post I chose opposites (on the color wheel) and opted for an all black look otherwise. The bright colors definitely make it more summery, (spring, if you want to be technical). A switch in the accessories and shoes would make it work for a dinner or night time look. The same look can be recreated with all white, if you’re not comfortable with colorblocking main pieces.  Enjoy the week with lots of color & Happy June !

Color blocking is one of the easiest ways to experiment, especially with color. Color blocking can be easily done with what you already have. You can either spice up an outfit it accessories or you can make an outfit with something you already have.

All you need for colorblocking is two or even three colors. You can choose to block it up with accessories, like I did or with main pieces. There aren’t any rules to what you can do, the colors can be close to one another to create kind of a color palette or they can be opposites (on the color wheel). An example of close colors (color wheel wise) : Pink + Orange an example of opposite colors : Yellow + Blue. And since is pratically summer, its the perfect time for brights and neons.

Usually I think a head when it comes to outfits for certain occasions but for some reason I thought I had a lot more time for one of my close friend’s graduation. I managed my time poorly and had to find what to wear quick and local. I found this dress at Urban Outfitters and absolutely loved the feel and look but it would of course look to plain to wear a regular striped dress until from the corner of my eye I spotted a bright neon clutch on my way to the line and as quick as I saw the clutch I thought of my favorite blue sandals from Zara on the last hour. Small side note, this dress is a Midi, so if you’re taller than 5ft, then it won’t fall so close to your ankles 🙂

Color block the summer away ladies !!!

Another Dose of Fringe

Top : Lord & Taylor / Necklace : H&M/ similar / Skirt + Shoes : Zara / Coat : F21

Hi everyone ! I hope everyone’s been making the most of spring and enjoying the warmer weather. Lately, I have been on a fringe binge and I can’t seem to get over it. This look is is very similar to my second to last post, on fringe. I go through different moods with color palettes and lately the kick has been neutrals and mixing and matching them, like gray + army green.

I got my hands on this great off white/ beige-y faux leather midi skirt from Zara. This skirt is a little longer than most midi skirts on me because I am barely grazing over 5′ 1”.  Midi’s usually cut just at the middle of the legs, just little over your calves. This would look like a normal midi skirt on a average height person. To spruce up the skirt,  I added a camo tee with a tribalesque statement necklace from H&M. And of course my fringe binge babies from Zara to add to the more beige for semi monochromatic look. I hope everyone enjoys the fringe obsession that brands are incorporating to jazz up your looks for the spring and summer days !

Casual Spring Saturdaze – Day to Night

Finally, Spring decided to actually grace its presence over Boston. We’ve been having fake spring weather the whole month of April, where its okay weather for a day or two and then we get wind for the rest of the week. It was still kind of breezy this weekend but it was cop-able in comparison to the other days and Sunday got a lot better.

I got this Anthropologie / Free People – ish dolman cardigan from Forever21. The minute I saw it I knew exactly what I was going to wear it with. Since the weather was a little better than okay and because my saturday was going to be a little eventful with different things to do I decided to transition the main piece, the cardigan, throughout the day. I started off with wedges from Aldo, from last summer than I transitioned into my vans-esque slip ons and then a skirt & lace up sandals for Youth Service.

Another great find/obsession is tank top that I am wearing from Zara. This tank top is perfect for wearing as actual shirt and not just as an undergarment. The material, feel and stretch of the tank top is very comfortable, it doesn’t loosen up and get all over the place and the white is so crisp and clean. The thick straps are also a bonus because you’re getting the tank top look and feel without being uncomfortable or revealing, covering up everything that needs to be.
